It’s once again the end of the working week, but that doesn’t mean that you (or us all) shouldn’t do some creative writing exercises. All the more reason to take some time to nurture our writing, especially if the day job has nothing to do with it. Today’s exercise are once again random phrases creative writing prompts. The idea behind this type of creative writing exercise is that you are given a set of random phrases, which you must then somehow incorporate into a complete story, or poem or piece of flash fiction. Pretty straight forward, huh?

Apartment 2B aflame
He’s starving
Through facility
Paralyze Lodge
Debbie first
Gapping Vienna
Forbes mommy
Congested weather
Eventually she might
The instructions:
As always, first take some time to read through the above list. Once you that a story is there, behind these random phrases, start writing it. Write for at least 30 minutes or longer if you can spare the time and strive to come away from this writing session with a complete first draft. After you are done, let the story rest for a few days and only then return to it for edits and rewrites and the like.
