I know that it is the Christmas season, but I also hope that by now these writing prompts and exercises have gotten you into a more steady and regular writing habit and that you have also noticed some benefits of such a habit in terms of your writing being more consistent and such. Well to continue with this good habit, I have a nice random phrases creative writing prompt for you today, and the idea here is that I give you a list of ten randomly chosen phrases which you must then string together into a short story, poem, or what have you. It’s really easy and will really change the way you view creative writing!

The instructions:
As usual, first read the above phrases and while you do that try to imagine the story in the white space between. Once you have that story, start writing it, and don’t stop for at least thirty minutes or until you have a complete first draft in front of you. Use all of the phrases in any order. After you are done writing, set the piece aside for a few days or at least hours so you can see it with fresh eyes when you do the edits.
