Today we again have a creative writing prompt in the form of random words, only this time instead of just a few words we have many. Instead five we have ten. This should make for longer stories and poems and thus stories of a broader scope. The idea behind this simple and effective creative writing prompt is to be given a set of randomly chosen words which the writer must use to write a story from. Ideally all the words must be used in the story, at least in the first draft. This is a great way to jog the creative side of our brain and make it help us write those stories that are bubbling just below the surface.
The random words:
1. Talisman
2. Meadow
3. Shoot
4. Beginnings
5. Soft
6. Pet
7. Sunny
8. Page
9. Soapy
10. Blackboard
The instructions:
Read through the above list of words and copy the words out into your favorite word processor. A story behind these words should start to form in your mind pretty soon so just start writing! Use all of the words and write for at least 30 minutes. Your story should have a beginning, middle and an end. Once you are done, set the story aside for a few days, then return to it and finish the second draft, maybe even the third. Feel free to cut out some of the words from this prompt that you originally used to write the first draft.
Stay creative!
