Since it is Monday it is probably best to ease ourselves into another working week and what better way to do that than by a lovely and simple random words creative writing prompts exercise. The goal here is to produce a piece of writing from the given list of words below. All of the words in the list should be used, but the order is up o you. If you are struggling through writer’s block and are intimidated by the blank page before you, then this is the perfect exercise for you, since some of the words are already there. You just have to string them together into a whole.
The words:
1. Bathroom
2. Acceptance
3. Eternity
4. Club
5. Cool
6. Thing
7. Fluctuation
8. Stupid
9. Defect
10. Indent
The instructions:
Copy out the above list of words and try to figure out a way for all of them to fit into a story, poem, flash or whatever. Once you have a firm grasp on this idea start writing. Free write for at least 30 minutes and try to finish the entire thing from start to finish. Once you are done set it aside for a few days, or hours if you can’t wait that long, then return to it and rewrite, edit and polish it.
Stay creative!
