By giving you a predefined set of random words to work with the necessity to come up with a whole story out of thin air, so to speak, is taken away and the story is consequently much easier to write.

The instructions:
The above set of words should be used to write a story or a poem. Read through it and once you have the beginning of your story in your mind start writing and don’t stop for at least 30 minutes or for as long as it takes to write the first draft. Once you are done set it aside and only come back to rewrite it after some time has passed.
