Well, it’s the start of the new week and we’re going to hit things off with a pretty simple and straight forward little creative writing prompt in the form of random words. The idea behind this type of creative writing exercise is that you are given a list of randomly chosen words that you must then use to mold into a story, poem, piece of flash fiction or another type of creative writing. The aim, as always, is to help you write something, anything, because the first step is the hardest and the most important.
The words:
1. Coordination
2. Narrative
3. Patient
4. Saint
5. Eye
6. Worst
7. Sideways
8. Soon
9. Right
10. Lacking
The instructions:
Read the above list carefully and several times then try to write a story or poem using all of the words in it. It can be about anything you want, just make sure that it is a complete story with a beginning, middle and end, and that you use all of the above words in it. Try to write for at least 30 minutes. Once you are done set it aside and only come back to reread and revise it a few days later.
