It’s the start of another week, which absolutely warrants some fresh starts in other areas of our lives. So why not make a writing resolution today? Say, to do at least one creative writing exercise a week. To help you do that I have a lovely random words creative writing prompt for you today. This writing exercise involves writing a complete story, poem or flash from a set of given words. It is great for getting you over the hurdle of not know what o write about and leaving you with a first draft to work on and polish into perfection.
The random words:
1. Blame
2. Two
3. Taught
4. Sure
5. Percent
6. Archive
7. Twice
8. Nuts
9. Outside
10. Crash
The instructions:
Read through the above list of words a few times, trying to imagine the connection between them, the story in the white space between the given words. Once you are comfortable that such a story is there, start writing and try to write for at least 30 minutes. Use all of the above words in your story or poem and try to complete at least the first draft of it in one sitting. Once you are done, sit it aside for a few days and then return to edit it.
