Now, as you probably know by now, the aim of this creative writing exercise is to write a complete first draft of a short story or poem using a list of given random words to help you get started. So let’s do that now, shall we?

5. Temperature
6. Warmth
7. Games
8. Snow
9. Shade
10. Kitten
The instructions:
Read the list a few times to get a feel for the words and the kind of story or poem that they could be used to tell. Once you feel like you know it, start writing and write for at least a half an hour. You should aim to have a complete first draft of the story done by the time you finish the writing exercise, but if you don’t, don’t worry, you can always finish it when you return to it in a couple of days, or hours, which ever suits you best.
