Today it is once again time for some random words meant to jog your imagination and get you inspired enough to write. The idea behind this type of creative writing exercise is that you are given a set of words which act as story triggers in that they are supposed to inspire a story or a poem or a flash in your mind. Creative writing prompts in the form of random words are one of the best writing exercises, since they essentially allow you to retain most of your creativity, leaving you free to write any type of story you want to.
The random words:
1. Rain
2. Salesman
3. Refinery
4. Winning
5. Going
The instructions:
Read through the list of these random words and let them inspire a story, poem or flash fiction piece in your mind. Once you have a firm hold on the story, sit down and write it. Write for at least 30 minutes and do try to do so without correcting words and sentences as you go along. Editing should be done only on the finished piece. Once you are done with the story, poem or whatever, set it aside for a day or two, and only then return to finish it.
So get writing and stay creative!
