Creative Writing Prompts: Story Starter Sentence #11

by Vanja on July 31, 2009

Once again it is time for writing a story from just a sentence. The idea behind this type of creative writing prompts is that you are given a random sentence from which you should then write a whole story. This is another great way to get over that writer’s block, which is so often only lack of direction in writing and something that can very easily be remedied by just writing.

The sentence:

I hope the drive goes well.

The instructions:

Read through the above sentence a few times until you start imagining a story behind it. Once that happens just start writing and don’t stop until you complete a whole first draft. It by no means needs to be perfect, but it should be complete with a cleat beginning middle and an end. Worry about fixing it up later.

Stay creative!
