The first sentence of any story is one of the most important elements of it, since it is this sentence, along with the whole first passage, that draws the reader into the story, entices him or her into finishing the story. But that can also be understood in a different way, we could say that any story arise from just one sentence. And that is the whole idea behind the story starter sentence creative writing prompts.
The sentence:
Thirty-two and only just learning how to swim.
The instructions:
Read the given sentence through a few times then start writing a story around it. You may use it as the first sentence or anywhere in the middle. Before you start writing take some time to map out the general direction you want your story to go into as well as it’s main protagonists. Once that is done simply start writing and don’t stop for at least 30 minutes. Try to finish the story in this time and only come back to edit it a few days later.
Stay creative!
