It is once again time to try our hand at a simple creative writing exercise in the form of a story starter sentence. The basic idea behind this type of creative writing prompt is simple: you are given a sentence and from it you are supposed to write a complete story or flash or whatever other piece of writing you aspire toward. Despite it’s name it is not necessary to use the sentence as the first sentence, you may use it anywhere in the story. It’s easy, really it is, once you let your mind go and allow the subconscious to rein free.
The sentence:
All along she knew she will have to do it herself.
The instructions:
Read and copy out the above sentence. Once you feel that the story which follows from it is firmly in your grasp start writing and don’t stop until the first draft is complete, or write for at least 30 minutes. Do not edit as you write, just let the words flow, then do the rewrite later, once you have had some time away from it.
Stay creative!

this is good but that sentance sounds a bit clunky. I beleive it shouldn be:
All along she knew she would have to do it herself.
Sorry to be the grammar police.
Still love the blog and check it at least once a week.

Thanks for the suggestion and of course you are quite right…. grammatically
So from now on people may use either of the two sentences for this exercise!
I’m very happy you like the blog and I hope you’re getting some benefit out of doing the exercises.
Take care,
Vanja
