It is very important to get into a routine of writing if you hope to succeed and doing creative writing exercise is a great way to achieve that. The way story starter sentence creative writing prompts work is that I give you a sentence and it is supposed to inspire you to complete a story, poem, or piece of flash fiction. You can use the sentence as the opener or anywhere in the story, but do try to use it, at least in the first draft. After that, anything goes!

As per usual, read the above sentence a few time, to get a feel for the story that is hiding behind it. Once you feel like you have a grasp on that story, start writing without delay and try to write for at least 30 minutes. At the end of this writing session, you should have a complete first draft finished and thus something to work on further, later, once some time has passed and you can look at it with fresh eyes.
