Well as you have probably noticed it is Friday, the end of the week and time for the final creative writing exercise of the week. Today we have the story starter creative writing prompt, so nothing too challenging. It never ceases to amaze me just how much is hidden behind a single sentence and how long a story can be coaxed out of a single idea inherent in a sentence. The idea behind the story starter writing prompt is that you are given a sentence which should lead you into a story or poem in the sense of inspiring you to write a piece of fiction around it. And that’s all there is to it!
The story starter sentence writing prompt:
Much can be hidden underneath the line of sympathy.
The instructions:
Read the above sentence a few times and try to imagine a story behind it, or rather free your mind so that it has a chance to be creative. Once you feel like you could write a story or poem inspired by the story starter sentence start writing, and write for at least 30 minutes or more. Use this sentence somewhere in your piece of writing, at least in the first draft, thought once you go back to edit what you have written (a few days from now, preferably) you can change anything you want.
