As you are most likely aware, it is the end of November and the start of the new week. Some of you are probably also aware that it is the end of this year’s National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) and I do hope that everyone reading this who participated also won, or at least made a good start toward their novel. I finished mine, at least the first draft of it and I am super proud of myself for it. Now for the editing, which could be just as fun as doing the first draft. But there is no better way to keep on writing in the coming months than doing some creative writing prompts and writing exercises at least three times a week. And to that end, I have a nice story starter sentence writing prompt for you today. The idea here is that you use a randomly chosen sentence to help you write an entire story or poem. It is a lot easier than it sounds!
The story starter sentence writing prompt:
The panic dissolves into the air.
The instructions:
Read the above sentence a few times and try to see the story that it might have escaped out of, so to speak. Once you know that story, or at least the beginning of it, start writing and don’t stop for at least thirty minutes. Use the sentence as is somewhere in the story, but you can change it later as you go back to edit what you have written.
