Picture writing prompts, what a way to start the week. Creative writing prompts in the form of images are so terrific primarily because there are no predetermined words for you to work with. There is just an image, and that is all that stands between you and the story or poem you should be writing. So the idea behind this type of creative writing prompts is that you are given a picture to look at and it is supposed to inspire you to write a story. It usually works, even though it sounds very simple, too simple perhaps, but it usually works. Oh, why don’t you just try it for yourself…
The picture writing prompt:
The instructions:
Stare at the above image long enough for it to start telling you a story. Once that happens, start writing it and don’t stop until you have a first draft all done. In any case, write for at least 30 minutes. Once you are done with the story, poem or flash, set it aside and only return to edit it after a day or so.
Stay creative!
