Picture Writing Prompts: Marked Private

by Vanja on October 26, 2009

Once again it is time for some picture writing prompts and is it just me, or has it been too long? I do love these type of creative writing prompts as they allow for most creative freedom in the story or poem that you are trying to write. The idea with this type of creative writing exercise is that you are given a picture to look at, and you must then allow it to inspire a story in your mind. It sounds a lot harder than it is, all you have to do really is relax and allow the images and words to unfold.

The picture writing prompt:

The instructions:

Look at the image and let it tell you a story. Once you are comfortable that you have a firm grip on the story start writing. Write for at least 30 minutes or more. Try to have a complete first draft of a story or poem when you stop, so that later, when you go back to reread and edit, you have something concrete to work with.

Stay creative!
