Well, I hope you have all had an enjoyable Christmas celebration and that you have gotten all the presents that you wished for, but it is time to do some more creative writing practice. Today we have picture writing prompts, one of my absolute favourite kinds of writing prompts. The goal here is that ou use the image posted below and allow it to inspire you to write a short story, poem or whatever. Pictures have a great way of allowing us to tap into that place where stories come from and thus help us in writing more and better. Ready to get started?
The picture writing prompt:
The instructions:
As usual, first look at the image and allow it to tell you it’s story. Where was it taken, why was it taken, who took it, who was looking at this landscape and what were they thinking? Once you feel that you have the answers to at least some of these questions start writing your story or poem and write for thirty minutes and more in one sitting. Try to have a complete first draft by the end of this exercise.
Stay creative!
